The ”Salty” yacht project was created to form an online community source where those that share a passion for custom, classic, vintage, character, traditional, replica, or generally “salty” yachts both power and sail as well as other things nautical can find common ground.
Those who have the passion will know what “salty” yachts are. We consider them to include trawlers, tugs, lobster yachts, downeast style, long range cruisers, launches, pulling boats, commuters, “gold platers”, and yachts of renown design and/or distinction. Some of our yachts are for sale, many are not, all are placed on our site for the interest and enjoyment of "Salty" yacht enthusiasts.
As we develop the project we intend to include yacht reviews, interest forums, related event calendars, links to related sites, brokerages that specialize in “salty” yachts, photo essays, nautical objects of art, nautical lore, online yacht maintenance system software, and much more. As the project grows it will find a life of its own.
To grow the project we need your help. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to contribute photos of your yacht, articles, videos, event announcements, and ideas. As the site evolves there will be a more convenient form for posting contributions of media direct to the site. If your yacht is in Florida email us and we would love to come to you and photograph her and gather her story.
Thanks for your interest,
Craig Starns: founder- The “Salty” Yacht Project
